Home School Communication

Home-School Communication Partnership

Thank you to everyone who shared their views in our recent Autumn parent questionnaire.

We value all feedback from our school community and remain fully committed to ensuring a calm, safe, and positive learning environment where every child can thrive. In direct response to your feedback, we are taking action to make our communication across St Werburgh's clearer, more supportive, and easier to navigate. We want to ensure you get the right help quickly by connecting you with the right person at the right time.

To ensure you get the most accurate support, your child’s class teacher is always your first port of call. They are best placed to look into and resolve classroom, social, or playground worries. Please catch them for a quick chat at the end of the school day, or contact the office to request a telephone call-back or an appointment so we can listen properly and agree on a practical way forward.

Following an initial conversation with the class teacher, if extra specialized support or a secondary review is needed, the next step could be to involve one of the following team members:

Phase Leader: For wider year-group matters or curriculum queries.

frichards@stwerburghs.derby.sch.uk (Mrs Richards Year 5/6)

mmatassa@stwerburghs.derby.sch.uk (Mrs Matassa Year 3/4)

ldean@stwerburghs.derby.sch.uk (Mrs Dean Year 1/2)

cproudler@stwerburghs.derby.sch.uk (Mrs Proudler Foundation)

SENCO: For detailed discussions regarding learning adaptations, interventions, or targeted support plans.

ldean@stwerburghs.derby.sch.uk (SENCO)

Learning Mentor: For guidance regarding Early Help support, or if a lunchtime concern remains unresolved after speaking with the teacher.

abarradell@stwerburghs.derby.sch.uk (Learning mentor)

If you email the office regarding a learning or classroom query, the team will pass it directly to the class teacher so they can reach out to you. To ensure our staff can focus entirely on teaching during the day, they will always aim to respond to messages within (24 to 48 hours)

Many Thanks

The St Werburgh’s team
